Thursday, March 28

Full Day Option 1: San Diego Zoo

Time: 9:00 am – 4:00 pm | Ticket Price: $95

Take advantage of your time in San Diego by visiting one of the largest zoos in the entire world! The San Diego Zoo hosts over 3,700 animals of more than 650 species, including the world-famous Bai Yun, the giant panda who has called this zoo home for the last 22 years. This excursion will offer MSA FORWARD attendees a guided bus tour around the entire Zoo, with one visit to an exclusive behind the scenes area not open to the general public. Admission will also include the Kangaroo Express Bus, Skyfari aerial tram, and all regularly scheduled shows.

This excursion will also include the chance to discuss the challenges and opportunities the San Diego Zoo’s retail store faces with the Retail Director.

Attendees will also enjoy a 10% discount at all retail, food and beverage outlets within the zoo, and attendees will have the option to purchase lunch.

Full Day Option 2: Tijuana Tour

Time: 9:00 am – 4:00 pm | Ticket Price: $95

Don’t forget your passport! Explore Tijuana, one of the largest and fastest growing cities in Mexico, with this bus tour led by an expert tour guide! You’ll visit the Tijuana Cultural Cultural Center (CECUT), which hosts countless celebrations of dance, theater, art, literature, and other attractions that highlight the rich artistic Mexican culture.

The Tijuana Tour will also stop at the the La Caja Art Gallery, Pasaje Rodriquez and Telefonica Gastropark, where attendees will be able to purchase lunch from a variety of  food truck vendors.

Full Day Option 3: The Globe Theater and the San Diego Art Museum Experience at Balboa Park

Time: 9:00 am – 4:00 pm | Ticket Price: $95

This full day of exploration will bring attendees to both the Old Globe Theater and the San Diego Art Museum located at Balboa Park. The Old Global Theater is one of San Diego’s largest art institutions and among the nation’s top ranked regional theaters. The San Diego Museum of Art (SDMA) is the region’s oldest and largest art museum, and houses a broad collection with a particular strength in Spanish Art.

Attendees will have the opportunity to take guided tour of the Old Globe Theater with their Director of Retail, and a tour of the SDMA with its Associate Director of Earned Income, Chacho Herman.

Attendees will have the option to purchase lunch.

Venture out to the Fleet Science Museum, the first science museum to combine interactive science exhibits with a planetarium and an IMAX Dome! Attendees will be able to explore everything this museum has to offer, including 100+ interactive science exhibits in 8 galleries, various traveling exhibitions, the Tinkering Studio, the North Star Science Store, and the Giant Dome Theater (11:00 am IMAX movie ticket included!)

All attendees who join this excursion will also have a meet and greet with Director of Business Operations Robin Long.

Half Day Option 3: Botanical Building at Balboa Park

Time: 9:00 am – 12:30 pm | Ticket Price: $65

Experience all the natural beauty that San Diego offers with this guided tour of the Botanical Building and Lilly Pond at Balboa Park. Take a moment to smell the roses, admire the towering trees, and appreciate the diversity of plants that can flourish in the San Diego climate. Balboa Park is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, as well as one of the Great Places in America.

Monday, April 1

Half Day Option 4: Birch Aquarium at Scripps

Time: 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm | Ticket Price: $65

The Birch Aquarium at Scripps is the public exploration center for the world-renowned Scripps Institution of Oceanography at University of California San Diego. Attendees will be guided through a tour of the renowned aquarium which features more than 60 habitats of fishes and invertebrates ranging from the cold waters of the Pacific Northwest to the tropical waters of Mexico, and have the opportunity to speak with the Aquarium’s Director of Retail.

Half Day Option 5: Salk Institute for Biological Studies

Time: 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm | Ticket Price: $65

The Salk Institute for Biological Studies is an independent, non-profit scientific research institute in San Diego that consistently is ranked among the top institutions in the US in terms of research output and quality in the life sciences. Experience a private docent-led tour of the architectural marvels that inspire their researchers to change the world.

Half Day Option 6: Marston House

Time: 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm | Ticket Price: $65

Constructed in 1905 for George W. Marston, this beautiful estate features 8,500 square feet of rolling lawns, manicured formal gardens, and rustic canyon gardens. On this excursion attendees will learn about the family, the master architects, and the landscape designers who worked with them to create one of the region’s most important estates on docent-led tours.
