Pacific Northwest Chapter Meeting Minutes
Monday, Jan. 25, 2010 — Seattle, WA
The meeting was called to order at 1:30 p.m. by former President Karen Austin of the Columbia Gorge Discovery Center.
PRESENT
Thirteen members were in attendance: Karen Austin, Rhonda Brown, Mary Christensen, Laura Downing, Tammy Dryden, Janet Ershig, Melanie Farrar, Karla Glanzman , Amanda Hoelzle-Anderson, Lesley Hooker, Patricia Johnson, Jill Stephenson and Renata Tatman. Also in attendance were Miriam Works and Christina Rockrise with the program presentation from Works Consulting.
OLD BUSINESS
The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. In the past, our chapter initiated fundraisers for the Sam Greenberg Fund as well as assisting in registration fees at MSA meetings for new members (number and amount of winners dependent upon funds). As some of our fundraising charms were sold at the Phoenix MSA meeting, the monies will need to be located and deposited.
Although we did not conduct a blind auction at this meeting, we will plan to do so again at our meeting next year.
The treasurer’s report was given by Karen Austin. She will continue signing checks until turned over to the incoming secretary.
NEW BUSINESS
Several fliers were distributed, presented and discussed from MSA headquarters, including information about membership, the annual meeting, the magazine, etc.
Rhonda Brown, from the nominating committee (which included Mark Weber), presented Elizabeth Marcum, Pittock Mansion as candidate for the Pacific Northwest Chapter Secretary position. With no further nominations, the MSA office will send out the electronic ballot mid-February. Karen Austin will meet with Liz to go over her duties, etc.
Open discussion was held on a few store related topics.
ADJOURNED
Meeting adjourned at 2 p.m.
