Midwest Chapter Meeting Minutes
Sunday, Aug. 2, 2009 — Beechwood, OH
The meeting was called to order at 1:04 p.m.
PRESENT
Fourteen members were in attendance: Janice Berling, Judy Bosse, Corlis Green, Wendy Jacoby, John Lemke, Jason Price, Mary Rhodes, Susan Rozman, Renee Sheakoski, Martha Sivertson, Heidi Stelmach, Kathy Ward and Marleen Wiktorowski.
OLD BUSINESS
Previous meeting minutes were read and approved. Chapter President Heidi Stelmach gave a summary of the financial report.
NEW BUSINESS
It was suggested we use some of the money in the account for the Sam Greenberg Scholarship Fund or for a specific Midwest Chapter recipient. Discussion followed on ways to possibly go about it, including the selection of a committee for finding candidates and using an auction to match grant amounts. A variety of auction methods using online resources was discussed with the consensus being that further research needed to be done. Wendy Jacoby agreed to look into eBay as an option for the chapter to auction donated goods from their stores to raise scholarship money.
Heidi Stelmach issued a call for finding future chapter officers.
Discussion was held about assigning the treasurer's position to the incoming secretary as stated in the bylaws.
There is an issue with finding a bank that can maintain the account when the treasurer changes.
