Midwest Chapter Meeting Minutes
Saturday, April 17, 2010 — Austin, TX
The meeting was called to order at 4:30 p.m. by Heidi Stelmach.
PRESENT
Twenty-nine members were in attendance: Rachel Allen, Lynne Barron, Gwen Benner, Denise Browning, Tammy Bryant, Christine Cameron, Jacque Fucilla, Sue Folwell, Guadalupe Herrera, Diane Hileman, Diane Hubert, Wendy Jacoby, Jennifer Jansen, Cynthia Kennard, Arynn Larson, John Lemke, Irene Light, Mary Lofgren, Judy McElfresh, Karen McNeely, Elaine Molin, Jane Precella,
Serenity Shanklin, Nina Silbergleit, Heidi Stelmach, Christine Sweeney, Terry Tarnow, Robert Tate and Catherine Wallberg.
OLD BUSINESS
Minutes from the previous meeting were read by John Lemke.
NEW BUSINESS
We want to check into Ebay: Can our chapter do a fundraiser for a
scholarship? John Lemke and Elaine Molin will check with MSA headquarters to see if this is okay.
We discussed a “map of members” with photos of each member and where they are located.
Fifty-four Midwest Chapter members are attending the 2010 Conference; 11 attendees are new
members. The Midwest Chapter encompasses 10 states.
We discussed having the next regional meeting at the Studebaker National Museum in South Bend, IN. Suggested dates are Aug. 14 – 16, Aug. 28 – 30, Sept. 11 – 13 or Sept. 18 – 20. John will send out an e-mail to see which weekend will work best for all. Megabus.com — for travel to South Bend from many areas — was mentioned.
We asked for suggested topics for the meeting: Social networking? How to start an e-commerce site? Gwen Benner asked for feedback on the 2011 MSA Conference in Chicago. Wendy Jacoby mentioned that with the annual MSA Conference being held in our chapter area, we will need many volunteers during the event.
