Mid-Atlantic Chapter Scholarship Fund
The Mid-Atlantic Chapter Scholarship Fund assists museum store professionals in attending an MSA Retail Conference & Expo or a Mid-Atlantic Chapter Meeting so that they can learn more about their trade and strengthen their skills, thereby enhancing the industry.
Qualifications
Each applicant must meet the following qualifications:
- The applicant must be a member of the MSA Mid-Atlantic Chapter.
- If applying to attend an annual Conference, the applicant must have never attended an MSA Retail Conference.
- If applying to attend a chapter meeting, the applicant must have never attended an MSA Retail Conference or local chapter meeting.
- The applicant must certify financial need, i.e., demonstrate significant budget cuts that would prevent the applicant from attending the Conference or chapter meeting.
- The applicant’s institution must be an MSA member in good standing.
- The applicant must not have been a recipient of the Sam Greenberg Scholarship.
- The applicant must not be a member of the board of directors or Scholarship Committee.
- The applicant must not be from the same institution as a member of the Scholarship Committee or the board of directors.
- The applicant must not be a relative or significant other of a board and / or committee member.
Scholarship Committee
The Scholarship Committee, consisting of the chapter Vice President and two appointed chapter members from different institutions and different towns, will select recipients. Each recipient will receive notification of his / her selection no later than March 1 of the same year for the MSA Conference or one month prior to a chapter meeting. The amount of the award may vary and is determined by the Committee and the balance in the fund.
Recipient Responsibilities
- Each recipient must attend the full program on the dates and locations specified for the annual Conference or chapter meeting.
- If an applicant is unable to attend the annual Conference or chapter meeting, the award must be returned. The applicant may re-apply at any time to attend a future meeting. The award is not transferable.
- The chapter Vice President must receive applications no later than Jan. 1 of the Conference year or two months prior to the chapter meeting. All incomplete applications will be returned and / or disqualified.
- If applying for funds for the annual Conference, the applicant must first apply for the Sam Greenberg Scholarship.
