DENVER, CO –
The Museum Store Association is pleased to honor David Duddy, of the de Cordova Sculpture Park and Museum, with the 2011 MSA Merit Award. MSA’s outgoing 2nd Vice President Sallie Stutz presented David with the award at the 2011 MSA Retail Conference & Expo in Rosemont, IL, in April.

David has been a member of MSA for nearly 17 years. In his 10 years of ongoing volunteer commitment to MSA, David has served in many capacities, including president, vice president and secretary for the North Atlantic chapter, Sam Greenberg Scholarship Committee, Program Resource Group, Knowledge Standards Task Force, as well as serving on MSA’s board of directors as treasurer and director at large. “Wherever and whenever he served, David always brought thoughtful and detailed opinions to the discussions. He stands behind a voice to be heard and considered,” says Sallie.

As director of retail operations at the de Cordova Sculpture Park and Museum for the past 16 years, David has built the store into one of the most successful museum stores in New England, serving primarily his local community but also international guests who often visit during the summer months. Over a decade ago, he had the opportunity to expand the store to create his vision of art and commerce in one space.

“David is not bashful about his love of his work, and he is not bashful about bringing his humor to the table,” says Sallie. “He is a dedicated advocate for the museum store business as they support the missions of our institutions”
